Animal Emergency & Critcal Care Services is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and we're open on every Holiday. When you have a pet emergency, we're here for you.

We provide 24-hour emergency service with a veterinarian on site at all times. If your pet needs emergency care in the middle of the night, you can come to our hospital and find a veterinarian, veterinary technician, and support staff waiting to help you.

What To Do In Case Of An Emergency

1) Call your family veterinarian, their office may be open or they may direct you to ours

2) Call our hospital and give the receptionist the following information:

  • a. your name and phone #
  • b. a brief description of what your emergency is
  • c. your location

3) Alert a family member, friend or neighbor to assist you in transporting your pet

What To Do If Your Pet Sustains An Injury (I.E. Hit By A Car)
1) Approach an injured pet with caution... they may bite anyone (including their owners ) when in pain
2) Use plywood, blankets, or an ironing board as a stretcher to move your pet if it cannot walk
3) Place clean towels over any open wounds...apply direct pressure if the wound is bleeding
-Under NO circumstances should a torniquet be placed unless you are directed to do so by a veterinarian

What To Do If Your Pet Comes In Contact With A Poisonous Toad (Bufo Taod)
1) If your pet is not seizuring and is conscious, rinse the mouth with running water by placing a sink sprayer or garden hose in the corner of the mouth
2) Do not try to make your pet drink or force water down your pet's throat
3) Do not give any other liquid or food to your pet, only use water
4) If your pet is seizuring, unconscious, falling over, or becomes very stiff come to the hospital as soon as possible

Wat To Do If Your Pet Is Exposed To Poison Or Medication
1) Call our hospital, you may be directed to give your pet something to induce vomiting
2) Be prepared to bring your pet to our hospital; certain drugs or toxins have antidotes that we can administer
3) Always bring the packaging or vial that the suspected substance was kept in, since the label provides important information
4) If your pet's skin was exposed to a poison, chemical, or insecticide, bathe your pet in water and use plain dish-soap to clean

What To Do If Your Pet Is Vomiting Or Has Diarrhea
1) Call your family veterinarian or our hospital, you may be directed to remove your petÍs food/water
2) Your pet may become dehydrated if suffering from excessive fluid loss caused by vomiting and/or diarrhea and will require medical attention
3) Do not give your pet any over-the-counter medication such as pepcid or immodium unless directed to do so by a veterinarian
