Brian K. Roberts, D.V.M., DACVECC
Director of AECCS

Dr. Roberts is a native of South Florida (Fort Lauderdale). He graduated with high honors from the University of Florida Veterinary School and completed a 13-month internship at the Animal Medical Center in New York, the largest veterinary hospital in the world. He has been the Director of Animal Emergency and Critical Care Services of South Florida since 1997 and has authored a number of research articles on the subject of toxicities.

Dr. Roberts completed a 4-year long residency in emergency and critical care at Veterinary Specialists of South Florida, and was Board Certified by the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care in 2003. He is one of only 200 criticalists in the entire US.




Ashley Nichole Hooper, D.V.M.

Dr. Hooper received her DVM degree from the University of Florida in 2006. She has since completed both a general rotating internship in medicine and surgery and a specialty internship in emergency medicine.

Animal Emergency and Critical Care Services of South Florida is pleased to welcome Dr. Hooper in 2008 as a first year resident in veterinary emergency and critical care medicine.




  Kathleen Kersey, D.V.M.

Dr. Kersey received her D.V.M. degree from the University of Illinois in 2007. She then completed a small animal medicine and surgery internship at Veterninary Specialists of South Florida. She will be staying on with Animal Emergency and Critical Care Services of South Florida to complete a residency in emergency and critical care medicine. 

 




Edward Payne, D.V.M.

Dr. Edward Payne received his DVM degree from Michigan State University in 2004.  He remained for a year of advanced training in Emergency and Critical Care medicine.  Following his internship, he worked at one of the busiest small animal facilities in the country, Red Bank Hospital, seeing cases in their Emergency/Critical Care Department. Dr. Payne joined Animal Emergency and Critical Care Services of South Florida in 2007 and is currently a second year resident in veterinary emergency and critical care medicine.
